Post by DanielPost by DPost by DanielIs there a way to have alpine setup to update all folders every certain
number of minutes and display the number of unreads on the list of
folders?
Thanks
Daniel
Hello Daniel,
To the best of my knowledge, this is only possible with incoming
folders. I've had the same question myself and haven't found a way
inherent to alpine.
If you use maildir folders, it is very easy to have a look at the
files in your maildir folder to determine which ones are new. From
there you could send notifications, mails etc. about new mail
status. But in order to get it in the folder view, you probably have
to rewrite some code in alpine.
Best regards,
Daniel
I thought so daniel, thanks.
Seeme like too much work. I sort of like Alpine the way it works and...
Well, that's all.
D
I agree with you. I'm very happy to get all the alpine functionality in
one package and the help files are quite good as well.
Of course there are things that I miss, and some thing which are a bit
clunky, but overall, the combination of ease of use, with power features
strikes a good balance for me, compared with the other main competitor
mutt (or neomutt).
But... the source is there, so I console myself with the thought, that
_if_ a feature is important enough, in theory, I could always write it
myself. ;)
